PATIENCE

Here is the greatest secret to success and catching whatever your wild rabbit is. And its cliché as heck, but it’s the truth. PATIENCE.

I am fully, 100%, no-doubt-about-it projecting when I say, patience is of the utmost importance. I don’t have patience. Not an ounce of it. But, if you or I, or anyone else for that matter, is ever going to see long lasting success, we’ve got to find a way to be patient.

I’m not talking about the kind of patience to wait for your Starbucks latte, a reply to a critical request at work, or that txt from a would be love interest.

I’m talking about the kind of patience that gives you permission to grow and develop over the long haul and prepare for the opportunities that present themselves. Breath. Be patient.

Discipline to remain faithful to the process even when we are dying to do anything but that is patience. The same way courageous people are still scared but do what they need to anyway. Patience isn’t the absence of impulse, its mastery of it.

All I am asking is that you take all that sense of urgency and drive that you and I share, and use it to grind away at your mountain of dreams. But, you must give yourself the freedom of time. True gains stand the test of time. This journey to the competitive fitness or business pinnacle, for example, is a commitment of years, not days or weeks. I won’t promise you any less.

Be patient.
