Each month, in order to get to know our StoneCutter community better, we highlight an Athlete of the Month.
This is an athlete has exhibited determination, growth, and a great attitude in the gym.
They challenge and encourage their teammates on a daily basis and represent CrossFit StoneCutter with pride.
Congratulations to our April 2017 Athlete the Month, Johnny Scheible!
Johnny is a regular in the 5:30 p.m. and our weightlifting classes. He is always has a positive attitude and is constantly encouraging others. In addition to taking time to mentor people and get to know them, Johnny leads by example each day during and after class.
What are your hobbies and interests?
You see it everyday. I CrossFit.
What is something we don’t know about you?
I have a strange pet peeve. I don’t like blankets touching the ground.
When did you start crossfit? Why?
I have been CrossFitting for 4 years and got into it to help a friend out who needed to start working out so I did it with them.
Do you remember your first wod?
It had dips and running in it. It was a 6 min AMRAP and I had to stop at 3 minutes. I died.
What is your favorite/least favorite thing about crossfit? (movement, wod, etc.)
Currently anything with a rack position. lol
How has crossfit affected your life?
I has improved my health and helped my marriage. Couples that work out together stay together.
What advice would you give a newbie?
Don’t chase the strength, let the strength come to you.
Tell us your most memorable moment/wod/etc. in CrossFit?
My first competition I was so nervous and I ended up coming in first. That is my best memory so far.
Have you met any goals since starting CrossFit? What future goals do you have?
Continue to work on my movement efficiency and master muscle ups.
