Our Mission

At CrossFit StoneCutter our purpose is to enable the excellence of all willing athletes and organizations by teaching them the physical and mental skills necessary to transform their bodies, minds and cultures. It is our firm belief that by doing so we are enabling them to achieve their goals, support their families, and improve the world around them.

What is StoneCutter?

Our name was specifically chosen to convey that we are group of human beings striving to be better, support one another, and serve each other. The inspiration for our name came from the poem by Jacob Riis, which captures in few well-chosen words how the journey to health and success is paved, however each of us define it.

“When nothing seems to help, I look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before”.

What does it mean to be part of StoneCutter?

Regardless of your journey and goals, we believe anything can be achieved when done together in service to others with a simple and unwavering focus on the task at hand.

At StoneCutter, these principles guide everything we do and how our leaders and coaches help build our community. It is our hope that through involvement with our community you will find tools and experiences that will affect all aspects of your life.

Core Values for Coaches and Athletes

Courtesy

We develop our athletes to show kindness, humility, good sportsmanship, politeness, and respect to all people.

Integrity

Being honest with others and yourself at all times – coaches and athletes.

Perseverance

Steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. It is single-minded devotion to the task at hand that can only be achieved through perseverance.

Self Control

Self control is two fold. We strive to have physical control with regard to motions, precision of execution, prevention of unnecessary injuries and violence.

All physical reactions are based on psychological makeup, maturity, and moral, ethical, and religious codes. Emotions are present in the majority of situations, hence the need for mental self-control.

The degree of controlling the particularly strong emotions such as love, hate, anger, surprise, joy, sadness, etc., show the level of achievement of each of us has an athlete and productive member of society.

Indomitable Spirit

Indomitable means unconquerable, unbreakable, unshakeable. It means that a person has such strong unshakeable beliefs and principles that no sacrifice is too high a price to pay in defending or achieving them.

Family

“The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life”

– Richard Bach

At StoneCutter, we welcome, cherish and promote families. Regardless of your age, race, background, or abilities you and your family are welcome here to be part of ours.

Faith

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
Martin Luther King Jr.

Whatever your goals or challenges, achieving them requires faith. Often, we have lost or given up faith in our goals, in ourselves, and in God. At StoneCutter, we strive to help you find it again and apply it in your life every day.

We hope this has given you a clear picture of what we are about, what to expect from us, and what you can hold us accountable for.

We look forward to having you as part of CrossFit StoneCutter!

See you on the floor….
